How to Keep your Pearl Jewelry Shinning




You may find that Pearl necklace or Pearl Pendant lose it shininess over a period of time. Natural Pearls are very precious materials and their luster will easily lose if not handled properly.

Try to keep pearls away from other jewelries. Gold, silver and other gemstones are much harder than pearls and will leave scratch on the surface. So, always store pearl jewelries in separated jewelry pouch. And never leave the pearls on hard or rough surface. Place a soft cloth on the table while matching, wearing and removing your Pearl Jewelries.



Also keep Pearls away from chemicals like perfume, vinegar, and anything acid. To avoid heat, including warm water, high temperature will darken the color, make the pearl dry and sometime even crack. So, never wear Pearl ring while cooking.

Wipe the pearls with soft cloth every time after wearing as human acid on skin may cause the surfaces of pearl corroded and gradually lose the shininess. And when wearing or holding the jewelry, avoid touching the pearl directly, hold the clasp or metal part to prevent leaving the skin oil and acid on the pearl.



When clear the Pearl Jewelries, use professional jewelry cleansers or let the professional jeweler to handle them. , avoid all kinds of ultrasonic cleaner, steam-clean, detergents, bleaches, powdered or ammonia-based cleansers. Never use instruments with a rough surface to clean the pearls, avoid toothbrushes or scouring pad.

After washing, do not hang pearls to dry. The string may not be able to support the weighted when wet and break. Lay them on a clean and moist towel to dry, when the towel dry, the pearl jewelry is also ready.

The string of your Pearl Necklace may break overtime, restring the necklace at least once a year. If you wear it frequently, restring it twice a year.


Take good care of your Pearl and they can be shinning for years.
